This calendar was conceived 24 years ago by Sak, my best man and friend, who first built it in Excel. This app is built in his honour.
These are the Greek public holidays observed by offices. Orthodox Easter and the days that depend on it (Clean Monday, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Holy Spirit Monday) are computed. Labour Day in Holy Week is moved to the Tuesday after Easter, the usual practice; the Ministry of Labour confirms it each year. Greek law gives no substitute day when a holiday lands on a weekend. A long weekend is 3 or more consecutive days off that include a weekday holiday.
